Who we are
Dear Apothecary is an independent, family-owned herbal wellness and supplement company based in Vista, California. We’re one of the fastest growing supplement companies in the country, ranked in the top 1% of all Shopify stores, and we got there one customer at a time.
What our name means
Long before pharmacies had drive-thru windows, the apothecary was the person a family called first. They knew you by name, came to the house when someone was sick, and stayed long enough to explain what they were giving you and why. They weren’t gatekeepers standing between you and a pill. They were part of the family’s life.
“Dear” is how a letter starts when it’s written to someone who matters. Together, the name says what we’re here to do: look after every customer the way the old apothecary looked after the families who trusted them.
Why we started
Buying supplements had become anonymous. Shelves full of bottles making big promises, and no one to ask which one was right for you, how to take it, or whether it fit with what you already take. When something went wrong, you got a ticket number.
We started Dear Apothecary to put a person back behind the bottle. Our formulas are built around ingredients with research behind them, at doses guided by that research, and we’re always here to tell you what’s in a formula and why it’s there.
