Dear Daily Privacy

Dear Daily is a free daily read from Dear Apothecary. It works on dearapothecary.com and as an app for iPhone and Android. We built it to keep your answers private: there is no account to create, and the app does not include advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
What stays on your phone
When you set up Dear Daily, you can tell it your first name, age, sex, goals, what you take, whether you take a prescription medicine, and when you want a reminder. Dear Daily also keeps your reading progress, streak, saved stories, daily routine check-ins and how much is left in each bottle. All of this is stored only on your device. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it.
Daily reminders
If you turn on reminders, the reminder is scheduled on your phone at the time you pick. We do not run a notification server, and we do not collect a device token. You can turn reminders off in the app or in your phone's Settings at any time.
Downloading each day's stories
Each morning the app downloads the new stories and photos from Shopify's content network (cdn.shopify.com), which hosts our website. Like any web request, this lets Shopify's servers see basic technical details such as your IP address and device type. We do not use this to identify you. The app keeps recent stories on your phone so you can read them offline.
Links, sharing and email
- Product pages and the daily email signup open dearapothecary.com inside the app. Those pages are covered by our store's Privacy Policy.
- Study links open PubMed (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov), the public research database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
- If you sign up for the daily email on our website, our email provider stores your email address so we can send it. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- When you share a story, your phone's share menu sends it only to the app or person you choose.
The website version
On dearapothecary.com, Dear Daily may use Microsoft Clarity to understand how pages are used, such as where people scroll and tap, so we can make the reading experience better. Clarity does not receive your setup answers. You can turn this off at any time in About, under Usage analytics.
Deleting your information
Because your answers live on your device, you are always in control. Tap Start Over in the app's settings to erase your setup and history, or delete the app. To remove your email from the daily email, use the unsubscribe link in any email.
Children
Dear Daily is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Dear Daily explains published research on nutrients and supplements. It is general information, not medical advice.
